Dear PaBIA,
If you happened to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving at the cottage, we hope you had warm clothes and rainsuits! Mother Nature didn’t quite cooperate. But we do hope you had a fun and safe Thanksgiving!
As of yesterday, the voting for our next councillors began in earnest. If you are Canadian, please vote between now and October 22nd for the two people whom you feel will best represent you and all of Pointe au Baril for the next four years. Your voice matters!

Township Elections –
eVoting: October 9 – 22
As of yesterday, the voting ‘booths’ opened for this Fall’s Township election. They close on October 22nd. For all Canadians, please be sure to either call in or go online to vote for the two candidates you best feel will represent Pointe au Baril over the next four years.
The Special Election edition eBlast was sent out on September 4th dedicated to providing all the candidates’ answers to the GBA questions posed with regard to their thoughts on a wide range of subjects. PaBIA certainly hoped these varied answers began to highlight for you some of the issues at stake in our PaB community that GBA also felt apply up and down the coastline of Georgian Bay. As well, all the candidates’ responses can be found under Shortcuts in the right column of this eBlast (if you are on your computer) or at the bottom of the eBlast (if you are on your smartphone).
Please be sure to check for your Eligibility, whether or not you are registered and common voter Q’s and A’s for eVoting before casting your votes! Every vote counts!
Please feel free to contact any one of the candidates via their email addresses found when you scroll down on the Township website. Questions, ask Maryann Weaver at the Township Office.

Yearbook cover 2018
2019 Yearbook Stories
As every summer season comes to a close, I begin thinking about next summer and the next Yearbook…so I wanted to reach out to each of you to ask if you have a fun story to share or would like to provide an interesting tidbit. PaBIA would welcome your offering.
Although nothing needs to be finalized before January, I would appreciate knowing your intentions to write an article this fall! As I have said many times before, this yearbook belongs to all of us…without your contributions, the book wouldn’t be what it has become…an historical book with many interesting topics within!
So please email Hilde to let her know of your offerings!

Still Time to Check the PaBIA Map for
YOUR Correct Property Information!

PaBIA Map
Just a quick reminder to check the 2015 PaBIA Map for any mis-markings or mis-numbering with regard to your island or property that should be corrected for the 2019 Map.
If you have not already done so, please email Jim Rogers with changes…please provide the island/property number in question, the changes you believe need to be made and a drawing attached if possible. Jim will let you know he’s received your email!

Recently there was a ToA delegation with the Minister of Natural Resources and the PA for the Minister of Transportation to discuss the Phragmites Issues. Norm Miller our MPP joined us for both delegations. Georgian Bay Forever (GBF) was very helpful as the Township gathered reference material for these meetings. Attached please find a copy of the delegation document the Township provided to the MOT including a hard copy of the document along with all of the attachments.
