Dear PaBIA,
As a PaBIA member, you or someone in your household should have received an email with your link to the PaBIA’s 2018 Online Survey that was sent out last Thursday., We urge each member’s family to discuss the issues presented and then thoughtfully respond to the questions and complete the survey, submitting it no later than next Monday, November 19th. Upon completion of the survey, your answers will be processed by our professional researcher and the results given for dissemination to everyone.
If you have not received your survey, please notify Nancy Rogers immediately so that it can be resent to you asap!

Stephen Griggs
New Sailing Commodore!
Having completed his stint as PaBIA’s Sailing Commodore, Rainer Kaufman has shared with us that Stephen Griggs will be taking the helm for the 2019- 20 Sailing Season – and it’s known that Stephen is already hard at work putting together the racing schedule for next summer! Stephen has been involved in PaB for a long time, involved with the Ojibway Club and was later the President of the Ojibway Historical Preservation Society and was in part responsible for its creation. Welcome Stephen!

Kelly Jennifer Watson
New Sr Regatta Chairs!
The Watson’s will be chairing the 2019 PaBIA Senior Regatta, taking over from the Findlay’s. The Findlays ran an excellent regatta and have passed on their words of wisdom and contacts to help Kelly and Jennifer Watson in the transition. PaBIA has amazing volunteers that make running the regatta and passing the event onto different families a seamless endeavor.
The sister duo has made an excellent team over the years – from running the Ojibway Gift Shop together in 2011 to doubles partners in many PaBIA Regattas. When not in Pointe au Baril, Kelly and Jennifer live in Oakville and Toronto, respectively, and are passionate about their industries: Kelly in the legal field; Jennifer in wealth management. We are looking forward to summer 2019!

GBA Needs Our Support ~
Plastic Waste Reduction
Petition: Motion 151
PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING

As you may or may not know, the concern about plastics in our environment has grown exponentially in recent years. There is a growing “national strategy to reduce plastic products entering the oceans such as bags, bottles, and straws, to clean up shores and to educate the public about plastic pollution. This strategy would force corporations that have relied on cheap, disposable plastics to clean up their act and would be a huge step forward in protecting marine animals that are devastated at the hands of plastic pollution.
“Every year plastic kills one million seabirds and 100,000 marine animals such as sea turtles, whale, dolphins, and seals. These senseless deaths could be prevented by reducing single-use plastics and microplastics. These creatures can’t wait any longer for action. That’s why we need to support this progressive motion [M-151] now.”
In May this year, GBA joined others in calling for a Zero Plastic Waste Canada. Now there is a Motion currently being debated in the House, and a public petition in support, which already has almost 135,000 signatories.
Please CONSIDER SIGNING this petition NOW.
