PaBIA

We listened! Some members requested that we reduce paper and postage costs by sending the 2024 dues notices online so that people could make both payments and contact listing changes there.

For ALL online payment methods and updating member contact information, please Click Here to access the PaBIA website’s page.

On this page, you can:

  • Update any yearbook listing information that may have changed from last year;
  • Purchase membership and extra items;
  • Make donations;
  • Pay by credit card, e-transfer, and PayPal.

Three ways to pay online: start by clicking the ‘Join Now’ button on the bottom of your preferred membership level to place your order – {not through the “Sign In” at the top of the website page):

  • Credit Card through the PaBIA website (there is a surcharge for this service). Fill out the online form and submit.
  • PayPal through the PaBIA website. Fill out the online form and submit.
  • E-Transfer from Canadian bank accounts. Through the PaBIA website select purchase items and enter any updates to listing information. In the payment section, select Interac payment, and e-transfer the total amount to pabislanders[email protected] (auto-deposit enabled). Please note spelling for auto deposit.

If you run into issues, you can Click Here to watch a short video on how to navigate the site. If you have any questions, email us.

We will NOT mail any ’24 Membership forms to anyone who has paid online by January 15th.  All those not heard from by that date will be mailed the form with a return envelope. You, of course, can still pay online after that date, should you wish to do so, but the notice will have already been sent out.

We are, of course, able to take payments by cheques from both Canadian and US banks.

This year, all payments will be received and recorded by Elise Findlay, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, as she prepares to take over the position from Nancy Rogers at the 2024 Annual Meeting.

Hannah has been engaged in the Pointe au Baril community for 7 years. She has a B.Ed in educating for social justice and her Master’s in communications & culture studies. Her research interests include Canadian studies focusing on social and environmental issues, which she brings into her volunteering and career.

Hannah is a strategy manager at Public Inc, a creative and consulting agency supporting organizations in sustainability and social impact work. Though based in Toronto, she spends just about every moment she can in the spring, summer and fall in Georgian Bay, and is incredibly thankful for her connection to this land.

Do you know someone…

  • who likes spending the summer outdoors in the Pointe au Baril area?
  • who is interested in the natural world?
  • has a desire to work in the Pointe au Baril cottage community?

If so, they should apply to be a PaBIA Marine Patroller! Please send this eBlast to them! A detailed job description can be found here.

The Township of the Archipelago has shared with PaBIA that they have begun to schedule Public Sessions on proposed Site Alteration and Tree Preservation By-laws. The two By-laws are designed to apply to situations where there will be significant alterations to the grade, topography, trees or shoreline vegetation of a property and add an additional layer of protection for the natural environment.

There will be two open house sessions in early 2024 in which you can participate, either in person or online:

  • In-person at the Pointe au Baril Community Centre on January 25th, and
  • Online on January 30th.

To register for either one, please click on this link.

There is a survey open now to submit your feedback once you have read the proposed bylaw changes.

PaBIA is engaging in the process; and if you would like to submit feedback or questions through PaBIA, you can email the Director for Ratepayers Affairs, Katie Findlay.
