PaBIA is excited to open up its 108th season on the Bay! We hope you will check out the calendar on the website or in the Yearbook and mark your calendars for all the many great events covering many different opportunities to grow and learn about the community as well as to just have fun! We hope to see everyone on the Bay this summer!

We Need Your Emergency Stories TODAY

From Our President:

Your representatives meet later today with the WPSHC, our councillors, and others with a strong interest to discuss ways that we might be able to find a means for providing emergency services for those of us in our water access community.

As mentioned in last week’s eBlast, we know there are many of you who have had very serious situations resolved due to the help of PaBERT. We would like you to tell your stories, with the hope that they will show clearly why it is so crucial that we have an emergency response program in Pointe au Baril. If you are one of those with a story to tell, or are a relative of someone with a PaBERT experience, please take a few moments to write down in your own words what occurred and email it to Julia. It can be submitted anonymously or not. It doesn’t need to be long, or eloquent; the facts will speak for themselves.

June Sailing Tune Up Race This Saturday @ 2 p.m.

Our tune up race will be held in Ojibway Bay on Saturday June 25th at 2 pm sharp.

Thank you to the Honsbergers (A510) who will be hosting the post race rendezvous.

This is a fun race and a great opportunity to reconnect with your Pointe au Baril sailing friends.

ToA Large Item Pick Up Day

This Saturday June 25th

Please remember that this Saturday at the Station Docks, you can bring your large items for pick up by ToA. ONLY large items will be accepted such as refrigerators, stoves, mattresses, beds, furniture, BBQs, etc. There will be a charge for any refrigeration appliance that has not had the refrigerant property removed and tagged.

CPR Basic Course

A CPR basic course has been scheduled for Saturday, July 19 at the PaB Community Centre, given by St. John’s Ambulance. The cost is $70 payable in cash the day of or by credit card if phoned in ahead of time to St. John’s Ambulance Course. The course, limited to up to 18 people, starts at 9:30 am – 1:30 pm. John McDaniel Finally Catches The Big One

After 46 years of fishing the waters of Eastern Georgian Bay, and guiding many people to catch a double digit fish, John McDaniel from Marion, Ohio finally landed one of his own. He caught his first double digit 15 lb. Northern Pike in early June.

Fall Rummage Sale

The Ladies’ Church Group is very grateful for all the contributions to the annual sale made by the members of PaBIA. This year’s rummage sale will be held on Saturday, September 24 th , from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at two locations – the Community Centre and the Church basement.
