Hi all – after heading up last weekend to close up the island, I discovered that our old tin boat had been swept off the island at some point in the previous weeks. Assuming it stayed afloat, figured it was worth checking in here to see if anyone had found it and tucked it away.
It’s an standard / small open aluminum boat, silver and faded green, with an old 9.9 Evinrude pull-start engine with a blue cowling. There would be a new(ish) red fuel tank – likely says Bata on it. Would have started its journey from the north side of 106A (at the northern end of Shawanaga Inlet / Turning Island, east of the Ojibway / Pym Rock.)
If anyone has seen it, be great to hear and I can arrange transport back to the island!
Many thanks,
Pete Schmidt
