Volume 18 No. 9

After a very wet and cool first half of June, the last few days have been glorious. May it stay that way for the first weekend of the summer season here in PaB.
This year, with the many PaBIA events taking place at the Ojibway, we are requesting that one ‘sign up’ via the link provided for each event in order to help the Club plan for the right amount of food and drink. Although not mandatory, it would be much appreciated!

PaBIA
Wajax Fire Pump Demo THIS SATURDAY
This demo will be held on the 27th at 2 pm on the Ojibway front docks. Please consider taking the time to learn about one of PaBIA’s 5 Wajax Fire Pumps for the “let’s hope we don’t need to know it” explanation. Do you know which of the 5 pumps is located near you?
Ed Kernaghan, PaBIA’s Member Safety Director, has organized the demonstration and Hayden, OC Facilities Manager, and the Ojibway Staff will lead the demo and answer any questions. They will also demonstrate a Honda model – the type of pump that most islanders have on their islands.
Also learn about other equipment that cottagers have found helpful when helping to fight a fire. Remember – you are your own fire department! See below for reminders.
Of course, no one ever wants to take the time to do this – but it could help save your island and your loved ones.
PaBIA On-the-Water Boater Coaching – July 1 and July 8 – with Randy Johnson

PaBIA’s Tune Up Sailing Race
The first ‘race’ of the season always serves as a tune up race….to make sure all the lines are in place, the rudder works and the sails are whole! So come out to the Ojibway Bay for this all fun event on Saturday at 2 pm. Come to get the kinks out or just be the cheering gallery!
The Naturalist Program – July 15 @ 4 pm in the Ojibway Club Lounge
Please sign up here to make planning the food and beverage easier for the Club.
