DESCRIPTION:LARGE ITEM DISPOSAL DAYS AT THE POINTE AU BARIL WHARF WILL TAKE PLACE ON:\n\nSaturday\, June 25th: 9:00 am – 4:00pm\nSaturday\, August 6th: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm\n\nFor information regarding acceptable items\, please click on “Accepted Items” and “Items Not Accepted” below. \nNote: \nLarge trucks require access to the dock in order to facilitate the placement and removal of waste bins.  The movement of additional vehicles at the dockside presents a safety hazard to staff and the public.  Large item days at the Pointe au Baril Wharf are therefore intended for those arriving by boat only.\n\nRoad access residents are reminded that they can drop off their large items for free at the Site 9 Landfill on these dates.\nLarge items may be dropped off at Site 9 during all its scheduled hours of operation. Tipping fees are in effect except on Large Item Disposal Days .

Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. \nThe creation of this federal statutory holiday was through legislative amendments made by Parliament. On June 3\, 2021\, Bill C-5\, An Act to amend the Bills of Exchange Act\, the Interpretation Act and the Canada Labour Code (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) received Royal Assent.
